The words you select can have a dramatic effect on the content of your website. If your website’s goal is to sell something, positive and encouraging words will work to your advantage. Avoiding negative and discerning words will help to dissuade potential customers.

With words you have an opportunity to communicate a message. When deciding what words to use try and view it from the perspective of ‘what message am I communicating here’. The words themselves may logically say what you wanted. But combined and in a certain context, they may communicate much more than anticipated.

A great way to see if the words you’ve chosen work well is to ask other people to read what you’ve written. Other people may have a different view on which words work and which don’t.

Text on a website, if you want it to be, can be a flow of flowery information. A hymn of meanings dedicated to the subject at hand. But it comes down to that first condition; ‘If you want it to be’.

When talking about flowing text we are talking about a kind of writing, a way of talking about something which has a rhythm to it. The difference between logical informative writing and more creative, excessive writing.

To really make the most out of the flowing of text you need to want your text to be that way. Adding flowing flowery text to a website is an extra addition to a normal way of adding text. It can be easy to write about something logically. But to write about it in a way which flows and adds something to the content, simply through its construction is an entirely different thing.

The use of a border is understated but strong aspect of design that can change the way a page of text looks completely.

There are two types of borders used in web design. The border around a piece of text and the border around a webpage. The border around a piece of text is the space between the text and the website itself.  This is used to create space between blocks of text, which can make it easier to read.

The border around  a webpage is the space around the edge of a page, usually coloured or detailed in a way which defines it.

These two types of borders play a large role in how the webpage is read. Everything on the page is defined by the size of the borders, so varying the size of the borders can have a dramatic effect on the way that the page is read. Using different coloured borders works in much the same way, changing the way the page looks entirely.
